Happy Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween this year.  Michael was a champ and lasted a solid hour of trick or treating.  Pierce not so much, he was out after about 20 minutes but was totally happy sleeping on momma while we walked the neighborhood.  It's holidays like this that really make me fall in love with our street.  We had a great block party on Sunday and regrouped on Monday for trick or treating.  Good times all around!

Pumpkin Picking

As is tradition, we went to St. Luke's for some pumpkin picking this year.  This is was our third year to do this.  First year, Michael was just a baby.  2nd year, Michael was able to pick out his own pumpkins and I was about 6 wks pregnant with Pierce.  This year we had both boys with us.  It's great looking back through the previous year's pictures and seeing how things change over the years.

Happy 4 Months Pierce!

I can't believe my little Pierce is already 4 months old. The time is really going quickly. Pierce had is checkup last week with the pediatrician. Turns out he's got eczema or as the doctor described it, "You've got yourself a sensitive white boy." So far it hasn't been bad, just a few dry patches here and there. I rub cortizone and lotion on him twice a day. He should outgrown it by the age of two. Sleep has been so so. Pierce now goes to bed without a fight, but sleeping through the night has still been a struggle. We tried crying it out last weekend and it went pretty well, but Michael decided to stat waking up in the middle of the night saying, "I'm not sleepy." The boys seem to be tag teaming me during the night. We started rice cereal last week and he loves it. He is up to 2T twice a day. Later this week I'm going to introduce some green beans. Here are his stats:

Labor Day 2011

We traveled to Wimberley this year for the Labor Day weekend. This was Pierce's first road trip and I was a little worried about the drive and the sleeping arrangements. Turns out I had nothing to worry about. He did great on the drive both up and back and he slept great. Michael slept in a crib in the room with me and Pierce slept in his back and play in the hall. Both boys slept great which hasn't always been the case when we've gone for a visit. Pierce slept from 9ish until 6:30 a.m. I had to get up twice to make sure he was okay. We had a great visit with my parents. Michael woke up both mornings and fed the deer with Grandma. On Saturday we took him to the Blue Hole. This is a natural swimming hole close to the house. I'm so sad that I didn't get any pictures, but I was afraid of my camera either getting wet or stolen since I knew we'd all be in the water together. Michael is a true fish in the water. With his life jacket on he was able to paddle around on his own. He loved it!

Bumper

Pierce used his fancy bumper for a total of about two weeks before I decided to take it out of his crib. He continued to scoot closer and closer to the sides of his crib and I was worried about his face pressing up against the pad, so out it came. I haven't had the heart to actually pack it up and store it in the attic, so it's remained on the floor. Today I walked in and discovered Bella taking a little siesta in it. Glad someone is getting some use out of it!

Growing, growing, growing. Pierce had his 2 month checkup today. He's put on almost five pounds since we brought him home from the hospital. Here are the rest of his stats:

First Bath

Here is a picture of Pierce during his first bath. He loves bath time and immediately calms down as soon as he feels that warm water.

No Ordinary Kiddie Pool

I sent Chris to the store to purchase a plastic kiddie pool for Michael to play in and he came home with this monster pool. Michael loves it!

Happy 2 Week Pierce

Pierce had his 2 week checkup this week. Things went great. He slept through most of it until a mean nurse pricked his foot. Gees, he's got some lungs and was not a happy camper! He's been a terrific baby and is still sleeping most of his days away. Last night his cord fell off so tonight it's a real bath.

They First Meet

When we arrived home from the hospital with Pierce, Michael just up from a nap and still in sleepy clothes ran outside to greet us all. He was so excited to see Pierce. It was as if he new instantly that this was his baby brother, not just a visitor. Michael is fascinated with Pierce and loves to peek in on him in his crib. Just the other day while I was holding Pierce, Michael came up and gave him sweet kisses on his head. So sweet!!

He's Here!

Pierce David Grossman, 6 lbs 15 oz, 19 7/8 in. arrive on Saturday, June 5 at 3:41 a.m. via c-section ( And 3 weeks early!!).

Ultrasound Pics

With baby # 2 due this month, I thought it would be interesting to post the ultrasound pictures of him. They aren't great, since they are pics of pics, but you can still get a glimpse. First pic is from around 8 wks, 2nd-10 wks, 3rd & 4th-20 wks, and last pic is from 35 wks. Amazing how he has grown and changed.

Party Central!

Saturday was Michael's birthday party. We had a great turnout with 14 kids and 20 adults. The kids played on Michael's new swing set and a toddler bounce house that we borrowed from our neighbor. Everyone seemed to have a good time. I really got into the monkey theme while planning this shindig. We had monkey favor bags, cupcakes and monkey decorations.
